NWA Scale Crawlers Fun Run

Saturday, January 23rd our local club had a get together at Lake Ann in Bella Vista, AR. The area we crawled is the dam spillway. The rocks are big, smooth and tough on most any scale crawler. The weather was a bit windy but enjoyable.

There were a lot of OG's and a good amount of new comers. We've seen a bit of an increase in RC crawlers in the past year. We had some comp crawlers out as well. I felt a bit like I was seeing a living dinosaur.
I took this opportunity to get my Komodo out and really give it a decent test run. The weather hasn't been the best since Christmas. The rig did quite well out of the box. The biggest problem I had to deal with on this truck is the approach. The stock plastic bumper is attached to the body and hangs out well in front of the tires. The rear bumper tends to get hung up on inclines as well. That and the lack of sliders made the truck a chore to maneuver through the rocks. Those items will be addressed before it gets ran in a competition.

The other two rigs did well. It was nice to really test how well they could crawl in these rocks. The Scalerfab bumpers on these rigs have weathered the beating Tristen and I have put them through. They have the scars of many many hours of trail runs, bashing, and even long falls off a bluff to solid rock at the bottom.

We finished the day with only a few people breaking, made some new friends, and got to see some old ones.
All in all it was a great day. Great group of people out having fun. Couldn't ask for more.
