EVEN RECAP: RC4WD Scale Jamboree 2016

The event was on a Saturday in Quebec City, and I spent the Friday prior making the long drive. The event itself was well worth the drive; I did not place in any class, but had a lot of fun. There was a turnout of about 80 people, and a variety of classes being run - C1, C2 and a U4-style track. C1 was on the easy end of things, and worked out well with the high number of trucks that were almost “class 0” that were in attendance. I managed a perfect run on the second course, but had a few minor mishaps on the first.

Comparatively, C2 was about the difficulty you’d expect, and was also pretty fun to run; The event rules meant that I was only able to run my main truck in one class, so I borrowed a C2 Ascender (already kitted out with ScalerFab bumpers and sliders, which was nice!) from Chris of GCM, and ran it. For such a huge truck it did alright, and I managed a perfect run on the first course despite having half the truck hanging off a ledge at one point.

I didn’t have anything to run in the U4 class, and was busy running the C1 and C1 courses, so I didn’t get to see it very much; from talking to others it was pretty fun and somewhat challenging. After the various classes had finished, there was an improv tug of war, and then a draw for door prizes; ranging from bumpers, sliders, etc., to winches and wheels, and even a couple of K5 Blazer hardbodies and a complete Gelande 2 kit. Despite the odds, a member of the group that I travelled down with won the kit; it should be fun build for them, that’s for sure!
