This was the 1st local event that I’ve attended since moving down to the Toronto area; it being a 90-minute drive instead of the 5-6h that I usually have to go to events was a nice change from the norm. It was a bit of a rainy day, but unlike an event back in march in the same location, it was mostly drizzle, and the temperature was not bad at all!
The property that the event is on is a great location for scale driving, and I was looking forwards to having the chance to return; there are 6+ hours of awesome trails, with many carefully setup scale additions, ranging from functional bridges and ramps, to signs, houses, and even bigfoot. 40+ people turned up to the event, which was a G6-style fun run with a total of 500+ gates over three courses.
Overall, it was a really fun time, and well worth the drive! The rain didn’t pose a huge annoyance, and most people got through the courses with only minor breakage (and I even managed to not break down at all for once). Many thanks to Dana Lloyd and his family for the use of their property, setting things up, making hot food for all of the attendees, and shuttling people around as needed!
