Tread Lightly...and other Trail Etiquette

I recently went out crawling on a day that wasn't too cold. I Invited people to come crawl but noone else showed up, so I crawled by myself. Some might not like doing that but I find that a good crawl by myself really clears my mind. The benefit to crawling alone is you can focus on trying new lines and making any necessary adjustments.

As we enter the 2016 crawl season, either with new builds or old builds, there are some things to keep in mind when out on the trails or at a G6 event. Crawling with a group is also fun, but there are some things to take into consideration.

1. When crawling with a group of people, if you're all in a line, don't try the hardest line you can find, Unless the group is into that. Not everyone has the same skill level or setup.

2. Keep in mind the person in front of you may not want your help right away. If someone is struggling to make an obstacle, offer some assistance after 3 or 4 tries. Also, pushing someone from behind can be helpful or hurt both trucks. Always ask before giving someone a bump

3. Always leave enough space between your truck and the one in front of you. Not everyone can make a obstacle the first try. It helps to give them space to reposition or reverse when necessary.

4. Be prepared and be helpful. Noone wants to be the guy carrying his truck back. Know your rig, always carry a extra battery or 2 and spare parts. The bare necessities are fine but it never hurts to have a little extra to share with a fellow crawler.

5. Tread Lightlight and don't be afraid to pick up a little garbage. We enjoy going to play with our tiny trucks at these parks so lets keep them clean. They're rock crawlers not trash crawlers.

I hope everyone has a good year, remember it's all about having fun!
