This months scale adventure had me heading about 1000kms north to Queensland to hit the trails with Ryan (@scaledphotography) and Antony (@antony_raw555). So after a couple hours sleep I chucked the swag and the tiny trucks in my jimny and hit the road for the 13hr overnight drive. I hit surfers paradise around lunchtime the next day and had some much needed RnR on the beach that afternoon. The Saturday morning started nice and early. After meeting up at Ryan's place loading up his patrol with all the rigs we headed up to mt coot-tha to run their local trail along a semi dry creek bed. It was a awesome trail with a mix of some steep rock climbs and water crossings which proved quite challenging for our cc01s. The day was short lived though due to some truck malfunctions and also the heat. So with a quick stop in at oz rc in Brisbane to grab some parts and we headed back to Ryan's place for some repairs that afternoon. The Sunday morning was another early start, both the patrols where loaded up and we heading into the glasshouse mountains for some 1:1 4wding. Hit some crazy angles and saw some awesome views it's definitely on my list to stop in at again. The next stop was a further 1 and 1/2 hour drive to booloumba creek campsite which was out stop for the night, there was a sick trail up the creek and some awesome rocks up further at the falls. So the gazebos went up and the swags were rolled out and we hit the creek. The trails between the rocks made for some great scale creek shots. After a couple hours driving up and down the creek trails it was time to light the fire, get dinner on the go and hit the hay. Next morning we headed up to the falls which was a great place to finish off the trip, after a 1.5km walk in from the cars we jumped straight into the swimming home before hits the rocks. It was a steep climb up the first section into a water crossing which led to a very sketchy line on the edge of the rocks, if your rig slipped off there it wasn't coming home in one piece. The pajero and mu slowly worked their was across on the 3 wheels. Once through it was another steep climb up to the to the top of the falls. After taking in the view from the top it was time for the descent. Had a blast driving that spot, especially because no ones rigs ended up in the water below. After the walk out and drive back to Ryan's it was time to hit the road and drive all night to get back home. Huge thanks to Ryan and Antony for their hospitality and for taking the time to show me around their local trails. Great times, great trails, great friends, that's what scale rc'ing is all about.
