DIY Accessories Ideas! (Wood stacks, Inner Fenders, Limiting Straps and MORE!)

I've been messing around with scalers for the last couple years no. One of the coolest things about the this part of the hobby is the freedom of expression. Only in this side of the hobby can you see 30 trucks with the same chassis but all look completely different. We all want to make our trucks look as good as possible but paying twenty plus dollars for accessories can be a bit much. With just a couple bucks or just reusing some stuff around the house you can gain some scale points within minutes.

Did you know you can just cut up sticks and shoo goo them together or bundle them together for a perfect scale stack of wood? It's fast and easy. Here are some simple DIY things you can do with some things you may have around the house.

Inner Fenders- Next time you go grocery shopping, if your looking for lunch meat, get what comes in the container (as pictured). After the lunch meats gone you can clean out the container, cut it up and paint it. Who doesn't like recycling .

Limiting straps - When it comes to suspension, nothing sucks more then losing a shock cup. So why not add a little flare and stop those pesky cups from coming off. Using ring terminals (found at most auto parts stores), Paracord or similar rope, shrink tube. Cut the paracord to desired length, crimp the paracord to the ring terminals and place shrink tube over the ends. It's that easy! Just don't burn yourself.

Lightweight body panels - when it comes to body panels their are many materials you can use. From lexan to styrene it all works but you can also use a pop/soda can. This may not be ideal for those of you that want that deposit but it is a great lightweight alternative if you have one laying around. All you have to do is clean it and cut it to desired shape and attach to the cage. It's also thin enough to get real scale damage!

Just think of all the money you can save making your own accessories. You'll have more then enough money to spend on SCALERFAB TRAIL ARMOR!
