The Fun Park Event Recap

What a weekend it was. Woke up Saturday morning, loaded up and went to The Funpark for some U4 racing with the Carolina Crew and fellow team drivers Brett Zachary and Brandon and Kim Delcambre.

I had some prototype trailing arms that I was sent and asked to test out from TJ RC Products. I wasn't there to abuse the arms and the Bomber to see what weak points I could find.

The only two points that were found. The first being and older front link that snapped on a hard one wheel landing. The second was a spur gear that had half the teeth taken clear off when, what should have been a spectacular jump, ended with the bomb landing short, on all fours, throttle wide open and right against a bolder.

Ok, maybe three weak points. The driver need some serious practice if he is gonna drive fast.

On Sunday everyone ventured out to Knobby Creek for a full day of crawling on what has to be the most epic scale course in the south if not the country.

There were no gate, no time limits and no points to worry about. It was just a day of having fun with fellow crawlers and enjoying the wonderful weather.

At the end of the day I started hearing some gear noise from the Bomber and decided to put it up before it got worse. I have inspected and found an inner pinion bearing that needed replaced on the front axle. Hmmmmmm, that may be the result of that landing that took out the spur gear the day before.
