Oregon Recon G6 April fowl The 2016 Recon G6 "April fowl" was held at the Dry Creek Rc Crawling Course in Grants Pass Oregon. The course varied from sky high bridges to dirt trails carved out of the hillsides they even had a mining town with underground tunnels. We definitely had some beautiful weather for the event this year with temperatures around 70 degrees and beautiful blue skies.

We showed up Friday evening for early driver check in plus pick up our driver goodie bags which had a boom racing scale pop up tent and a boom racing backpack which I thought was pretty awesome of the sponsors.

After a long night of wrenching and getting lipo's charged it was time to head back out to go check in for Saturday's G6 stages. Once we arrived and found a parking spot it was time to get the trucks ready and backpacks loaded up. We were waiting around for the festivities to begin and we're taking photos of other people's Riggs and the scenery around when I noticed I picked up a hitchhiker on my scalerfab Jeep it was a little tree frog that decided he wanted to see what was going on.lol... at this point we found out that we had more than a 170 pre registered drivers for the event which was awesome and after the drivers meeting and national anthem it was time to hit the trails. So my daughter Nevaeh my good friend Philip and myself started on our journey and let me tell you it was a journey punishing on the trucks and the drivers as well let's just say there was a lot of Hills to climb. We really didn't have any breakdowns with any of the vehicles which was nice the only bad part was is my heyok switch for my Servo winch went out on me so that made a couple things challenging but with the three of us sticking together we were able to get ourselves out of any situation. Before you know it the gates Roll by like seconds on a clock and we were done. After waiting for the others to finish up the course it was time for the awards ceremony and raffle

Where I ended up winning a new set of Proline Flatiron XL's which will be put to use very soon as it's time for me to change out my old worn-out Swampers. All-in-all it was a good day with good friends and and some awesome scale adventure action...
