What a weekend, so much action packed RC fun. Started off going to Forest City to run at The Funpark's first U4 Race. The track there is set up pretty awesome, with a couple straight-aways a massive turn with jagged rocks and dip with a big rock pile a few jumps and some stick whoops. We kicked off the day with a drag style race on one side of the course like how the monster jam trucks run. Did really well and walked away with 2nd place in the drag run for 1.9 class. Then we took a 20min practice time for the U4 Course while others did maintenance on their rigs.
Also did great on the first heat for 1.9 class in the U4 Race. Walked away well should i say, galloped or wobbled her way into first for heat 1. Something in the front end made a horrible death wobble coming down the straight away but was so freaking hilarious everyone was cracking up. The rig looked like a Chinese water dragon running down the course! Heat 2 went a bit worse right off the line the rear lockout screws gave up and the entire wheel and axle slid across the course. Just needed a few screws but put me on a DNF for heat 2.
Other than that, my Scalerfab armor did a superb job of protecting my rig in the brutal, rocky, fast paced race! Team Driver Brett Zachery offered me to run his 2.2 Wraith if i wanted to, and I didn't hesitate going for it. Its been awhile since i drove a wraith so made for a interesting race to say the least. Spent the rest of the day watching the 1.9 and 2.2 IFS guys beat the crap out of their rigs.
Sunday we all packed everything back up and headed out to Lawndale to go to Knobby Creek for a GTG on their amazing crawler course. This place is on point they have spent countless man hours digging, building and planting massive rocks. It was a great sunny day for crawling hit the course with the rig all fixed up and converted back to crawling mode. She performed flawlessly, crawling over everything i put it up to. It was a great day of crawling and hanging out with friends, meeting new faces, and a group of the Team Scalerfab Drivers. Now time to relax, repair and repeat and get things ready for the Rock Yard Challenge - 2nd Annual Event a Scalerfab sponsored event and hosted by Scalerfab Team Drivers Brett Zachery, Kimberly Delcambre and me Brandon Delcambre.
