Event Recap - Monkey Series Scale Comp #4

This past weekend was Round 4 of my local clubs comp series. The event was held at a privately owned location in Charlotte, TN. we call Rocks and Boggers. The weather was less than cooperative with the threat of severe thunderstorms all day. A couple showers passed through but really didn't affect us while on course. The heavy rains the night before did make for very wet and muddy conditions on course though.

After tech in was completed it was time for Class 2 to start. Thirteen rigs started and from the beginning it was clear the conditions would play a role in the outcome. The course was quite technical with a few very tight gates and combined with the conditions it made for some tough times for more than one competitor, myself included. There wasn't much for me to write home about after this one was finished, I hit my fair share of gates and ended up in 6th place. When it's not your day, it's not your day and this wasn't my day for Class 2.

After lunch it was on to Class 1 where only five rigs started. The course was the same as it was for Class 2 with only a couple minor changes. As bad as I was during Class 2, I turned that around for Class 1 and finished with a 2nd place. The finish kept me in 1st place in the overall points series so I was happy with the finish. Hopefully the next round will go a little better for me.
