Well, it has taken a while for the thought of this event being over to sink in. The Kid and I have been looking forward to this event since last year. It was our first competition and our first time at Disney, Oklahoma. We couldn't wait to get back. We spent a lot of time over the past few weeks preparing for this event. Last year we had ScalerFab front bumpers with stingers and we knew the benefits they provided. This year we added rear bumpers and sliders to one rig. We had motor issues at a previous run so motor rebuilds and swaps, new foams, axles blew up in one rig... We had some obstacles to work through. We checked in on Saturday morning just before it showered on us a bit. The metal bumpers gave us several needed scale points since I neglected our other scale items in my pre-comp checklist. We put the bumpers to use immediately. The Oklahoma rock grabbed at everything that touched it and the bumpers let us slip up and over the inclines throughout the courses. There were 3 courses with ten gates on each course and we had 7 minutes to complete each individual course. The courses were challenging and a blast to run. Our ScalerFab trail armor saved us on several occasions. We learned early on last year to study the courses a bit before our run. The competition was tough, every truck hooked up very well on the course with only a few spots consistently giving drivers problems. We pushed through and gave it our best and learned what we could. The guys and gals that came out to this competition are top notch people. We enjoyed our weekend enough that we didn't want it to end. I enjoyed visiting with the other drivers and meeting new people. It was a pleasure and an honor to represent ScalerFab at this years RC4WD Scale Challenge in Disney. I hope this event continues to come back to the Midwest. This year though, will be a memorable one. Until next time, Randy & Tristen
